Green Monday - Variable

Although this is the first day of Lent, Green Monday is a day of gaiety, laughter and vegetarian picnics in the countryside. The carnival atmosphere is still in the air and in the villages many people wear fancy dress. Green Monday is followed by a fifty-day period of fasting.

Greek National Day – March 25th 

Students celebrate Greek National Day all over Cyprus on March 25th with parades in the morning. Greek dancing and athletic meetings are held in the afternoon.
